Using bioinformatics to revolutionize drug discovery
I'm Isabella Arenas, a dedicated Data Scientist at the intersection of bioinformatics and machine learning. With a rich background spanning software development to advanced data analysis in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, I thrive on turning complex biological data into actionable insights. My journey is one of continuous learning, innovation, and a quest to push the boundaries of what's possible in drug development and genomic research.
Currently, I work at Zafrens as a Bioinformatics Data Science Associate where I am part of a dynamic start-up wanting to democratize drug discovery. I also work as a Bioinformatician at The Salk Institute of Biological Studies where my lab focuses on the role of B cells in Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I previously worked as a Research Scientist at Eli Lilly and worked on a joint project with Immunology and Discovery chemistry and created an in-house web application that self-optimizes a machine learning pipeline to their experimental data. I've also worked as a Machine Learning Intern and Software Developer.
